In the Spring of 1994, a group of young men who enjoyed playing golf decided to form a golf club. From this adventurous idea, the Moment’s Golf Club was born. Their achievement was celebrated at the recent Moments Golf Classic when three of these men (Roger Clarke, Garnett Sullivan, and Roger Elliott pictured above from left to right) were honored and received plaques to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the club.
These men, along with Doug Marriott, and Norman Horne, guided and nurtured the club in its early years and watched it grow into one of the largest golf clubs in the country. During it’s 25 year existence, the club has grown from a modest handful of members to over 60 members. Both Roger Elliott and Garnett Sullivan would eventually serve as Presidents of the club.

After so many years, it’s no longer clear who came up with the idea of raising money to provide scholarships for deserving youth in the community. But this idea provided the club with a way to make an impact on the community, even as its members were enjoying the game of golf.
