More magic from Willie Fowlkes. This past September 14th, Willie stepped up to the tee box of the 145 yard 6th hole at the Rock Spring Golf course and proceeded to hit the second hole-in-one of his career. The great shot was witnessed by his playing partners Garnett Sullivan, Carl Lewis, and Ron Allen. Congratulations poured in from Tony Daniel, Winston Searchwell, Phil Scott and a number of other Moments members. Most of us are still waiting for our first ace, and now Willie has two! Take a bow, my friend!
Willie’s memorable moment comes 18 months after Wayne Willoughby’s ace on the 16th hole at the Grand Cyprus course in Orlando during the 2018 Winder Tournament.
The 2019 Moment’s annual club championship delivered an abundance of great golf in all three flights. This tournament, which is a gross tournament (handicaps are not figured in the final results) was held at The Wind Watch golf course in Hauppauge, NY. The course gave trouble to many of the golfers, but was easily conquered by the eventual winners: Norman Young (flt. 1), Winston Searchwell (flt. 2), and Michael McKenzie (flt. 3).
In the Spring of 1994, a group of young men who enjoyed playing golf decided to form a golf club. From this adventurous idea, the Moment’s Golf Club was born. Their achievement was celebrated at the recent Moments Golf Classic when three of these men (Roger Clarke, Garnett Sullivan, and Roger Elliott pictured above from left to right) were honored and received plaques to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the club
Fun and excitement galore at the Moment’s Spring tournament held in Atlantic City. Part of the excitement came in the form of a Flight I playoff which went 2 holes before a winner was decided. And that winner was Craig Jones (bottom right) who defeated Zubin Shirodkar on the par 3 second hole. Also making it into the playoff was perennial threat Dorrel Allen and Earl Noyan.
